Twelve years of designing sets for the screen.
Production designer, standby props and props buyer, Denoal Rouaud designs and builds sets for film, television, music videos and commercials, with a loyal crew of technicians.

Approach
How I work
I don’t just decorate; I make it feasible: scouting, design, build, budget and crew, all the way to the finished set.
My eye was shaped between Paris, New York and Montreal. Paris gave me a culture of cinema, New York the energy and inventiveness of independent production, Montreal a dialogue with the visual arts. From all three I keep one conviction: a set must serve the story above all, and be lived in as much as it is filmed.
A script sparks images, materials and colours. We meet and talk it through. I love discovering new worlds and turning a director’s vision into a set.
Give me the budget and the vision: every project gets my eye, an attention to detail that makes the difference, and a crew of outstanding technicians, as people and as artists.
